In this episode Stuart Brown interviews Kevin Connors, founder and Executive Artistic Director of Music Theatre of Connecticut in Norwalk. MTC was one of only three theaters in the country that Actor’s Equity allowed for in-person performances this past fall.
Kevin Connors is the founder and Executive Artistic Director of Music Theatre of Connecticut (MTC) in Norwalk, CT. Beginning in 1987, he has overseen a Conservatory of Performing Arts for students ages 4 – high school, as well as producde a full season of Professional Equity Theatre on the MTC MainStage. As a professional musical theatre director, he has directed numerous productions Off-Broadway, in regional theatres throughout the country, and more than 100 AEA productions at MTC. Awards include Best production of New York Musical Theatre Festival, 10 time Connecticut Critics’ Circle nominee as best director and in 2020, garnered the BroadwayWorld award as best director of a play for CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF, as well as the Connecticut critics circle award as best director of a musical for RAGTIME.
Connors also served as Adjuct Professor of Musical Theatre in several college BFA programs including the University of Bridgeport, Sacred Heart University, and The Hartt School/ University of Hartford.
